1. Structural design
The structural characteristics of marine globe valves mainly include valve body, valve disc, valve stem, packing sealing device and other components. The valve body, as the main body, is made of cast steel or forged steel material, which has high strength and corrosion resistance.
The design of valves should consider basic requirements such as good sealing, low flow resistance, and flexible operation.
2. Selection of sealing components
The quality of the sealing pair is one of the key factors, including material selection, matching, and manufacturing accuracy. For example, the degree of fit between the valve disc and the valve seat sealing surface directly affects the sealing effectiveness.
In order to improve sealing performance, materials that are resistant to corrosion, abrasion, and erosion are usually chosen.
3. Sealing principle
For liquid sealing, it mainly depends on the viscosity and surface tension of the liquid. When the tangent angle is less than 90 degrees, liquid may be injected into the capillary tube, leading to leakage.
Gas sealing is related to the size and viscosity of gas molecules. If gas molecules can freely move into capillaries, it will cause leakage.
4. Elastic deformation and plastic deformation
Under pressure, the sealing surface will undergo a certain degree of plastic deformation to achieve a sealing effect. For metal sealing surfaces, uneven protrusions on the surface will first come into contact and undergo plastic deformation.
If higher sealing performance is required, seals with certain elasticity can be used to maintain a good sealing state under temperature changes or sealing force.
5. Automation control
Automation technology has also been introduced in modern leak prevention design. For example, by using an electric push rod to open the electromagnetic iron block, the iron piece is attracted to drive the sliding plate to stretch the reset spring and drive the sliding rod to move upward, thereby releasing the sealing of the valve housing at both ends by the sealing element and sealing ring. The entire process does not require manual operation by personnel, effectively reducing the possibility of leakage caused by wear and tear.
6. Maintenance and upkeep
Regularly clean the surface and internal impurities of the valve to keep it clean; Regularly replace or tighten the packing in the packing sealing device to ensure sealing performance.
For situations where leaks occur, they can be addressed by tightening the gland nut, wrapping the thread with raw material tape, or replacing the fiber washer.
In summary, the anti leakage design of marine valves not only involves multiple fields such as materials science and mechanical engineering, but also needs to be adjusted and optimized according to the actual application environment.
