Research on Numerical Control Machine Tools and Sheet Metal Processing Technology

1. CNC machining method

For sheet metal processing, there are mainly the following processing methods:

(1) Single stamping, which means completing stamping processing including arc distribution, grid holes, etc. in one go.

(2) Continuous punching is divided into same direction and multi direction. Continuous punching in the same direction is often processed by overlapping molds, which is particularly suitable for processing long holes. Multi directional continuous punching is more suitable for processing large holes using small molds.

(3) Erosion processing, using small circular molds and small step sizes for continuous punching of curved shapes.

(4) Single or continuous forming processing, single forming is a sheet metal processing that is formed by shallow stretching according to the properties of the mold. However, if the forming is larger than the size of the mold, continuous forming processing is required.

(5) Array forming, this processing method is suitable for processing multiple workpieces on a large board, and the types of workpieces can be the same or different.

2. Process characteristics of CNC sheet metal processing

The application of numerical control in sheet metal processing exhibits unique advantages, which can be summarized as follows:

(1) Easy to use and low investment cost. It has its own unique advantages in the processing of various sheet metal parts, especially for the processing of complex shapes or thin plate components, which can automatically complete the processing of parts. According to the drawing requirements, holes with different size and shape requirements can be automatically processed, and larger holes and contour curves of various shapes can be produced and processed using small punching dies in a small step by step manner. With the addition of structurally simple molds, sheet metal parts with special processing techniques such as shallow stretching and flanging holes can also be processed.

Compared with traditional stamping, molds are simpler, have a wider processing range, and significantly improve processing capabilities. They are particularly suitable for mass production or diverse product processing, which is very beneficial for processing enterprises to keep up with market development and meet product demand. Moreover, due to the reduction of various costs, the economic benefits of enterprises are effectively improved.

(2) The product quality is stable and the processing accuracy is high. For the processing of sheet metal parts, the workpiece has good flatness, higher punching accuracy, and burrs. The forming quality is stable, and the product has good consistency.

(3) Effectively improve production efficiency. By adopting an automatic control system, it is possible to achieve small batch processing of workpieces and simultaneous processing of different parts, with fast processing speed. Because the CNC integrated processing of sheet metal parts reduces the subsequent processing steps, it greatly improves production efficiency and reduces production costs.
