

Marine gate valves are designed to meet the environmental conditions of ships and are used to control the pressure, flow and flow direction of fluids in ship pipelines. Its basic functions include connecting or cutting off the flow of pipeline media, changing the flow direction of the medium, adjusting the pressure and flow of the medium, and protecting the normal operation of the pipeline. Gate valve: The gate moves vertically along the center line of the channel to open and close. It has the advantages of small fluid resistance and unrestricted medium flow direction. It is a cast iron gate valve that complies with the Japanese Industrial Standard (JIS) and is specially designed for ship pipeline systems. Its main features include:
Structural design: Japanese standard cast iron marine gate valves usually adopt flange connection, which is easy to install and maintain, and is suitable for the flange connection standard of ship piping systems.
Material: The valve body is usually made of gray cast iron, which has good corrosion resistance and mechanical strength; the valve stem is made of tin bronze, which has excellent wear resistance and corrosion resistance; the handwheel is also made of gray cast iron, which is easy to operate and durable.
Applicable media: Suitable for seawater, fresh water, lubricating oil and water vapor not higher than 300℃, with good seawater corrosion resistance.
Sealing performance: Soft sealing or hard sealing structure is usually adopted to ensure good sealing performance and prevent medium leakage.
Operation method: The valve is opened and closed by rotating the handwheel, which is easy and quick to operate.
The working principle is to accurately move or rotate the gate in the gate slot through mechanical force to achieve the purpose of controlling the water flow. Specifically, when the gate valve needs to be closed, a mechanical device (such as a screw, winch or hydraulic system) is used to drive the gate down or rotate, so that the gate body fits tightly with the gate slot to form a seal, thereby cutting off the water flow. When the gate valve needs to be opened to allow water to flow through, the corresponding mechanical device is operated in reverse to raise or rotate the gate, allowing the water to flow smoothly.
